What does the scale’s IP rating mean?

The IP rating refers to the weighing scale’s level of protection. The first digit refers to the scale’s protection against dust, with the second signifying protection against water and other liquids.

Scales with IP65 rating are protected from moisture when wiped down with a damp cloth. IP67 rated scales have greater protection and are usually referred to as splashproof. IP68 scales are fully waterproof, built for use in the most punishing environments. You can read more here.
